Non-Absorbable sutures

Our Non-Absorbable sutures, including Nylon, Silk, Polyester (PET), PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), and UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) sutures.

These sutures are designed for long-term tissue support, as they are not absorbed by the body. Non-absorbable sutures remain in place for several weeks or months, making them ideal for cases where stitches need to be removed later. They are commonly used to hold wounds closed or to reinforce tissue, preventing tearing under tension.

These sutures are Sterile, CE-certified, and available in multiple sizes (USP 11-0 to 5) with cutting, reverse cutting, or taper needles.

Premium Non-Absorbable Sutures for Secure and Long-Lasting Wound Closure

Types of Non-Absorbable Sutures (as per the website):

  1. Silk Sutures:

    • Material: Natural protein fibers braided for flexibility.

    • Use: Ligatures, vascular ties, and skin closure.

    • Features: Smooth handling but may degrade over 1–2 years.

  2. Nylon Sutures (Ethilon®/Dermalon®):

    • Material: Synthetic monofilament.

    • Use: Skin closure, ophthalmic, and plastic surgery.

    • Features: High tensile strength, low tissue reactivity.

  3. Polyester Sutures (Ethibond®/Mersilene®):

    • Material: Braided synthetic fibers coated for smooth passage.

    • Use: Cardiovascular, orthopedic, and prosthetic anchoring.

    • Features: Exceptional durability and knot security.

  4. Polypropylene Sutures (Prolene®):

    • Material: Monofilament synthetic.

    • Use: Hernia repair, vascular anastomosis, and subcutaneous stitching.

    • Features: Non-reactive, retains strength indefinitely.

  5. Polybutester Sutures (Novafil®):

    • Material: Monofilament with high elasticity.

    • Use: Soft tissue approximation under tension (e.g., abdominal closures).

    • Features: Minimal memory, excellent knot security.

Key Features:

  • Sterility: Ethylene Oxide (EO) sterilized, individually sealed.

  • Needle Options: Stainless steel cutting, reverse cutting, or taper needles.

  • Compliance: CE, ISO 13485, and FDA-approved (where applicable).

  • Sizes: USP 11-0 (0.01 mm) to USP 5 (0.7 mm).

Applications:

  • Skin and superficial tissue closure.

  • Cardiovascular, orthopedic, and ophthalmic surgeries.

  • High-tension areas requiring prolonged support.
